Global Operations and Business Services

Global Operations and Business Services is a diverse and dynamic group of people delivering operational services to our clients. We are looking to hire a candidate within the Capital Market Operations team which supports our Global Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Global Equities Derivatives, Money Market, Funding businesses. We operate alongside our counterparts in London, Toronto, New York and Tokyo Operations to provide support under a "Follow-the-Sun" model.


The successful candidate will:

  • Join our team to provide support for our Capital Markets businesses. 

  • Be expected to contribute, lead process improvements & re-engineering and look at opportunities to create synergies across the Operations teams. 

  • Be tasked at assisting at upcoming MAS regulatory projects (eg work on confirmation design, MCAs, client onboarding to Markitwire).

TD Securities Singapore Finance is a part of the wider TD Securities Finance group. As one of the three regional finance groups for the Wholesale Banking segment of TD Bank Group, it has a key role in Singapore providing financial, management, liquidity and regulatory reporting. In addition, by its nature as a primary support and control group in the region, TDS Finance Singapore provides business information supporting projects and initiatives often as the liaison with the other groups and segments in Canada but also with the other regions (Europe and US).

Global Anti-Money Laundering

The GAML team acts as the first line of defence to ensure TD identifies and satisfies its anti-money laundering (‘AML’), anti-terrorist financing (‘ATF’), Sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption (‘ABAC’) regulatory and compliance obligations in the Asia-Pacific region. 


The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Development of AML/ATF, Sanctions and ABAC compliance strategies and practices in line with legislative, regulatory and industry requirements;

  • Advising and supporting the businesses of TD Asia in new business initiatives and their adherence to applicable AML/ATF, Sanctions and ABAC regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role entails having a solid appreciation of AML/ATF, Sanctions and ABAC regulatory requirements and risks;

  • Taking the lead on and/or participating in global and/or TD Asia GAML initiatives;

  • Working closely with the TDS AML Policy team to ensure that global AML Policies and Standards adequately address applicable regional regulatory requirements and nuances; and

  • Establishing and updating local procedures relating to AML/ATF, Sanctions ABAC


Operational Risk Management

Operational Risk Management, being part of TDS APAC Risk Management team, performs the second line oversight of operational risks in the bank. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the review, challenge and reporting of Internal loss Events, applicable process risk and control self-assessments and activities in the sub-risk categories of Operational Risk such as Third Party Risk, External Event Risk and Delivery Risk.


Specific Attributes:

Ideally have prior experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Sales & Trading franchise in Ops;

  • Tech Support for Trading desk; or

  • Ops Risk supporting Trading.


Business Development and Strategy

Our Business Development and Strategy team supports our business line in a wide range of areas to ensure we are maximizing the full capabilities and partnerships within the Firm and are compliant with regional and global practices and frameworks. 


Examples of some of the work we conduct include (but are not limited to):

  • Management support for regional governance and first line supervision;

  • Project support to senior management across all functional areas in partnership with our global platform;

  • Maintaining knowledge of market data, economic and legal and regulatory information that impacts the activities of the team;

  • Designing and implementing first line controls, including escalation protocols, aligning to the TD risk management framework;

  • Producing regulatory matrices of all regulatory obligations (including regulatory and financial reporting requirements) and limitations (if any) for a Singapore Merchant Bank covering the incremental regulatory obligations applicable as a result of carrying out Investment Banking Business under each of the Securities and Futures Act and the Financial Advisers Act and other relevant MAS regulations and Guidelines and notices and conduct a current state gap analysis.

  • Enhancing cross-regional activities by collaborating with local and global RMs;

  • Engagement with industry bodies and external counsel across various jurisdictions;

  • Acting as primary liaison with global product teams, risk management, legal and compliance to optimize alignment on product implementation and structuring.

  • Financial, Regulatory and Management reporting support

  • Providing advisory support to senior management on expense analysis and highlights


Specific Attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in wholesale banking products, including Financial Institutions, Transactional Banking and Lending Products in a global financial institution;

  • Legal background and experience with banking activities to negotiate terms and conditions of credit facilities, guarantees and guiding the implementation of new products;

  • Relationship management experience with mid and large corporates preferred.
