Founder & CEO, Lara Q Associates
(In her 40's)
Her story (as shared by her nominator)
Lara originally trained as a corporate lawyer and left the law to become an entrepreneur. She co-founded a successful designer kitchen business before exiting and moving to Asia. There she reinvented herself as the APAC head of Business Development working at several international law firms over the past 8 years.
In November 2019 she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer and went on to receive 7 months of treatment during which she completed her Associate Certified Coach (ACC) accreditation with the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
Having discovered the power of transforming lives through coaching and mentoring, Lara quit her job and established her own consultancy, Lara Q Associates. She now specialises in helping lawyers and law firms achieve their goals.
Lara is passionate about helping people live their best life. Having faced a life limiting illness, Lara wants to use her second chance at life to help people who are stuck or living into a default future. She supports and motivates them to achieve their full potential now rather than postponing their happiness. She is an inspiration as an entrepreneur and as a woman. Lara has an amazing attitude towards life and her ability to learn, adapt and overcome whatever career or life is giving you is just a lesson to learn for us all.
In her words:
Greatest achievement
My greatest achievement has been the ability to spot opportunities and not be afraid to take action. Everything I’ve done seemed like a good idea at the time until something better came along. I am not too proud to stick at something for the sake of it. I would rather move on to the next opportunity.
Biggest challenge thus far
I’m proud that I’m a survivor of the most aggressive form of breast cancer and that I completed my ACC coaching accreditation during chemo. I was even the first in my cohort to complete the 100 hours coaching and get my International Coaching Federation certification. I have bounced back from near death with new meaning and purpose.
